The Food Bank is open for drive-thru distribution on Tuesdays from noon to 6:00 p.m. If school is canceled in Harrison on a Tuesday the Food Bank will be closed. It will be open on Wednesday during the same hours.
Our Mission
Harrison Food Bank operates as a non-profit (501 c-3), charitable organization that believes access to nutritious food is a basic human right. We are committed to responding to the needs of our community for food distribution in order to see that no person goes hungry. We value respect, compassion and the dignity of each person. We strive to provide general support and health food choice education, whenever possible.
The Harrison Food Bank could not operate without committed volunteers who contribute hundreds of hours of service every month and play a key role in helping us fulfill our mission. As we grow and evolve, it is crucial that we continue to promote a favorable and lasting impression of the Harrison Food Bank in the minds of everyone we interact with including clients, donors, media, volunteers and the community. Our volunteers are important to us and we ask for your help to create a safe and meaningful volunteer experience. We appreciate your service!
As a volunteer staff member, we ensure you are provided with a safe work environment, necessary job training, supervision, evaluation, and recognition. In return, we expect you to honor your commitment, respect other staff members, and help out to the best of your abilities.
